Mark your calendars for March 9 Triathlon
C’mon out to support the inaugural Oracle Schools Foundation (sprint-distance) Triathlon on March 9, 2019 here in SaddleBrooke!
You’ve (probably) heard of the Oracle Schools Foundation before; here is a brief history for those who might not know the details. The OSF was founded by residents of SaddleBrooke four years ago after the reality regarding the lack of funding for public education and no funding for pre-school became apparent. The Board of the OSF has raised over $100k since that time for pre-school funding in the Oracle Schools and has driven other programs such as accelerated reading, 8th Grade Scholarships, the Levenson/Crum REACH Scholarship and others. We’ve done a major fundraiser each autumn in the form of a gala and dinner; many of you have attended and contributed and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts! The Board recently decided that it is time to expand our horizons for financial support and go to the larger community, hence an event that will draw people to our community and support our mission to be “A Beacon of Excellence in Public Education.”
A sprint-distance triathlon includes these events, in this order: half mile of swimming (to be held in the DesertView pool), 12 miles of biking (will take place on streets in SaddleBrooke One and SaddleBrooke TWO) and a 3.1 mile run, to be held on SaddleBrooke TWO streets.
In addition to the sprint-distance tri there will be a shorter distance mini-tri as well as an aquabike (no run) and a relay. Relay participants would have individuals participate in just one portion, swim or bike or run.
For those who don’t want to venture out onto the roads, they can compete in a mini-tri in the fitness center of SaddleBrooke One, where participants will swim and complete the bike and run portions on a treadmill and stationary bike.
All participants receive a free T-shirt and medal. Awards three deep.
Space is limited so sign up soon! Register at https://runsignup.com/Race/AZ/Tucson/OracleSchoolsFoundationTriathlon.

November at the Golden Goose
Fall is here, the holidays are rapidly approaching and we have much to be thankful for! To our generous donors, our “funtabulous” customers and our talented and tireless volunteers, we extend our heartfelt thanks and wish you and yours the very best of the holidays! Without all of you, the Golden Goose would not have been able to gift over fifteen million dollars to our local communities to date, through the programs of SaddleBrooke Community Outreach and IMPACT of Southern Arizona who share the profits of the Golden Goose equally.
