No summer vacation for SaddleBrooke Troop Support volunteers and donors

Diane Mazzarella

SaddleBrooke Troop Support volunteers and donors continued a high level of activity over the summer months. Some highlights:

* A major automotive group donated tickets for the November 13 Dinner Dance for program speaker Colonel and Mrs. Carr and two U.S. Marine representatives and their guests and is sending four associates to the event.

* Clothing donations of $1600 at thrift store prices and over $300 in food donations were delivered to local military families in need.

* A local appliance store and STS arranged to replace a broken refrigerator for veteran who was only working part time and could not afford a new one.

* The SaddleBrooke couple that purchased a $300 wine tasting certificate at the spring STS golf tournament invited friends to participate in the tasting. They collected additional $340 in donations to STS from the attendees.

In recognition of the organization’s activities, this August SaddleBrooke Troop Support received a Certificate of Appreciation that reads: “Our contingent would like to thank the ladies and gentlemen of SaddleBrooke Troop Support. Your organization supported us with assistance ensuring we kept a high level morale. We extend our appreciation to you for selfless service in support of the 2220th Transportation Company, Arizona Army National Guard and the United States Army.”

Thank you to all the generous volunteers and donors to SaddleBrooke Troop Support who made this award possible.
