Niners’ Turkey Shoot luncheon brings in Thanksgiving spirit

Bonnie Thomas

The Vistas Dining Room looked like Thanksgiving on Tuesday, November 4 where the SaddleBrooke Lady Niners held their luncheon after nine holes of golf. It was a lovely cool morning, which is common in this part of the Southwest this time of the year and perfect for golfing. The winner of the Turkey Shoot was Valerie Malik whose shot was closest to the line (six inches) on the SaddleBrooke Course, hole No. 6. She took home a gift certificate from Bashas’ for the purchase of a turkey or other Thanksgiving dinner items.

President Shirley Morris gave out Ace of the Year awards, which went to Sharon Dicosola for low gross and Bev Radford for low net. The pool of ladies from which the award was given came from those who won Aces of the Month throughout the year.

The President’s Cup is ongoing at this writing with the match play rounds reducing the numbers by half each time. The winner will be announced at the Christmas Luncheon held on Tuesday, December 9. At that annual holiday party the installation of the Niners’ 2015 Board will be conducted. In addition, the collection of Toys for Tots and Teens will be on display as centerpieces for each table before they are distributed to area children.

The Niners look forward to a new year and more new members. Interested? Contact President Barbara Johnson or Vice President Char Crossman through the Pro Shop.
