News from the Institute

The Institute for Jewish Services and Studies announces that Shabbat Services will be held on Friday evening, April 29, 2016, at 7:00 p.m. in the West Ballroom of the MountainView Country Club. The service will be led by Rabbi Sanford Seltzer and Cantorial Soloist Sarah Boltt, accompanied by Carolyn Cochrane.

A pre-Shabbat optional service will be held on Friday, April 29 in the East Room of the MountainView Country Club at 5:00 p.m. Dinner will be from a limited but varied menu. Please RSVP to Ellie Adelman at 818-3964 or [email protected]) by Wednesday, April 27.

Shabbat services are followed by a festive Oneg Shabbat reception. The April Oneg Shabbat reception is being sponsored by Al and Esther Goldberg in honor of good friends and Joel and Judy Wyner in honor of their two granddaughters’ college graduations.

Please consider sponsoring an Oneg Shabbat. It is a meaningful way to mark a milestone event in the family. We are seeking sponsors for the remainder of 2016 and 2017 Shabbat services. For further information about being a sponsor, please contact Kim Halper, 825-7135.

The SaddleBrooke community greatly enjoyed the series of classes presented by Rabbi Seltzer on the topic of the Chosen People concept in Jewish thought, its origins, implications and comparisons with Christianity and Islam.

We look forward to Rabbi Seltzer’s classes next year.
