SaddleBrooke couple Dorothy and Gary Wood recently published the story of their 10 year sailing voyage around the world aboard their 50 foot steel sailboat, GIGOLO. The voyage covered over 50,000 miles with stops in 59 countries. To cope with the demanding highs and lows of ocean sailing, they established an emotional bank account to balance the rigors of gale-force winds, sleepless nights standing watch and two near-sinkings against the thrills of standing on the rim of an active volcano in Vanuatu, visiting an elephant orphanage in Sri Lanka and wrestling with orangutans in Borneo. Their adventuresome story is now available only at the SaddleBrooke and DesertView libraries.
