Ah, spring! The bloom is on the rose. The lark is on the wing. And a new crop of line dancers are on the floor! The SaddleBrooke Line Dance Club is proud to welcome a host of new dancers into our club this season. Nineteen newcomers participated in a four session novice course and learned six new dances, step-scuffing and sugar-footing their way into the wonderful world of line dance.

Robin Williams said “Spring is nature’s way of saying “let’s party!” At the SaddleBrooke Line Dance Club we embrace the party. When you join the SaddleBrooke Line Dance Club your $10 buys more than one session at one level. It entitles you to attend any of our seven sessions throughout the week, at any level. That’s 364 sessions per year to choose from! You will learn popular dances and steps that you can take to parties and social events both on and off campus. The SaddleBrooke Line Dance Club is unique in our ability to provide venues and social events where you can apply your line dancing talents. Hey, aren’t “apps” what it’s all about these days?

Spring is also a time for change, an opportunity to head in a new direction. In our club it’s the time for the changing of the guard. At our annual general meeting held in February, outgoing club officers made way for newly elected volunteers. New club officers include Kathy Ames as president, Judy Saks as vice-president, Terri Gage as treasurer and Lynne Kumza as member-at-large. Shirley Miller continues as our secretary for another term. Our officers often wear many hats, serving as committee heads and volunteers in other areas. We are fortunate to have such talented and giving people fulfilling the functions that make our club work so well.

Come put a spring in your step by checking out the SaddleBrooke Line Dance Club. A good place to start is to drop in to our instructional Level 1 Workshops which are held on Tuesdays from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the SaddleBrooke Vermilion Room. You will meet other beginners and will be most welcome. Times and places may vary so please check out our website at sbldc.weebly.com and click on Calendar for the latest updates. Join the SaddleBrooke Line Dance Club for just $10 and enjoy line dancing all year long in 2016. Contact Treasurer Terri Gage at 262-8304. See you on the dance floor!
