Oro Valley Hospital Mini-Seminars

For the first time at the Health Fair, Oro Valley Hospital will sponsor short outdoor seminars on the lawn near the HOA 1 clubhouse. Three Oro Valley doctors will offer these mini-seminars so a larger number of people can learn about their specialties and ask questions.

8:15 a.m.: Kim Tucker, MD, Orthopedic Surgery, Northwest Allied Orthopedics, 1521 E. Tangerine Road, Suite 337, Oro Valley, Arizona 85755; 520-901-6380.

Dr. Tucker believes in compassionate orthopaedic care. She chose to specialize in Orthopaedic Surgery because it enables her to help patients overcome joint pain, allowing them to return to their active lifestyles. She uses innovative peri-operative pain management techniques, allowing patients to be more comfortable throughout their surgery.

This session begins before the fair opens and before the first shuttle runs. People who attend may park their cars at HOA 1.

9:45 a.m.: Leila Wing, MD, Endocrinologist, Northwest Allied Physicians

13101 N. Oracle Road, Suite 100, Tucson, Arizona 85739; 520-825-0300.

Dr. Wing chose Endocrinology because it encompasses all organ systems and she finds treating complex diseases rewarding. Her philosophy is to listen carefully and compassionately to patients and to be a partner in their healthcare. Her interests include diabetes management and thyroid disease. She sees adults of all ages.

10:15 a.m.: A. Beth Martin, MD, General Surgeon, Northwest Allied General Surgery, 1850 E. Innovation Park Drive, Oro Valley, Arizona 85755; 520-797-3000.

Dr. Martin performs surgery for conditions including benign and cancerous breast disease, benign and cancerous colon issues, surgical treatment of reflux disease, spleen removal, gallbladder disease, small bowel disease, appendix removal, hemorrhoids and hernias. Working with the patient, she helps determine appropriate treatment options to help them feel better.

All three doctors will make a short presentation and take audience questions. They will also be available for individual discussions at the Oro Valley location on the main floor inside the clubhouse.

This is a new addition to the Health Fair and the efforts of Oro Valley Hospital and their physicians are welcome and appreciated.
