The mission of SaddleBrooke Nature Club is “To appreciate, understand and protect our natural environment through outdoor experiences, education and advocacy.”

The club’s Program Committee chaired by Dan Chase has been busy lining up speakers and events with that focus. Members and guests will have some great opportunities in the coming months to get to know Arizona and each other!

The first meeting of the season will be October 10 at 4:00 p.m. in the Coyote Room downstairs at the HOA 1 Clubhouse. The speaker will be William H. Doelle who will talk about the early Native American people who lived in the greater Oro Valley area. There will also be information about upcoming field trips to Reid Park Zoo and B&B Cactus Farm as well as a Chuck Wagon Dinner at Tanque Verde Ranch.

November 14 the speaker will be Donald Falk who will be talking about Monsoons and Wildfire. A popular field trip to Bach’s Greenhouse Cactus Nursery and lunch will be discussed at that meeting.

December 12, one of our most requested speakers, Doris Evans, will show photographs and tell all about the life of the Road Runner. Doris fills the room for her entertaining and knowledgeable presentations.

2017 will be filled with lots of interesting topics including wildlife rescue and rehabilitation, gourds, recycling, mining, gemstones and metals, astronomy, turtles and much more.

SaddleBrooke Nature Club meets the second Monday of the month at 4:00 p.m. in the Coyote Room downstairs at the HOA 1 Clubhouse. Membership dues are $15 per individual or $20 per household.
