MVLPutters Founders Day Luncheon

Barb Wallace

While not Valentine’s Day, the MountainView Lady Putters (MVLP) shared the love by honoring their founding members and past presidents at the LouAnn Garvin Founders Day luncheon on Feb. 9. The meeting marks the beginning of a new year for MVLP, remembering the past and looking forward to the future. It honors our founder LouAnn Garvin who started the group in 1998 with around 30 charter members. Today there are more than 130 members, and membership continues to grow.

The luncheon was emceed by Carla DeWolf, newly elected 2026 president, and beautifully decorated by the Founders Day Committee. One hundred origami paper cranes made by Mary Williams, her daughter, and granddaughter decorated the tables as a symbol of guidance, support, and kinship. Cranes stay together for life, forming strong, long-lasting bonds. Putters are a “flock” who soar high and support one another.

Past MVLP presidents were recognized and thanked for their service to the group. Also recognized were the winners for the month of January.
