MPWGA Summer Fun

Janey Clausen with her hole-in-one ball

Denise Cashmore

MountainView/Preserve Women’s Golf Association (MPWGA) is making it through the monsoon season. June was fairly quiet, but July unleashed the rains. Here are some club happenings:

On July 18 on hole 6 at The Preserve, Janey Clausen got a hole-in-one. It was witnessed by Connie Sherman, Barb Laskowski, and Cathey Quesnell.

Our event chairs have been busy putting together a number of events. The Beach Bums event will be held on Aug. 20 at The Preserve Golf Course, and it is open to both MPWGA and SBRWGA. It will be a 7:30 a.m. shotgun, and everyone plays from red/yellow combo tees. You might want to practice your bunker shots. There will be an Awards Luncheon at the MountainView ballroom after golf with special Beach Day Mai Tais!

Also in August, please consider donating to the Folds of Honor Event to be held on Saturday, Aug. 31. Items include theme baskets, gift cards, artwork, jewelry, sports equipment, crafts, tools, timeshares, etc. All monies raised goes directly to Folds of Honor Foundation. To donate, contact Donna Yon at [email protected]. Donation checks should be made out to SaddleBrooke TWO.

Then, in September, according to Lady Mary Kay Nordhill, “The King and Queen of Clubs has decreed it is now time for you to sign up for the Kingdom’s MPGA/MPWGA golf event held Sept. 3 at MountainView Golf Course—the Castle of Golf. Each foursome (selected randomly) will play as a team to defend the honor of the King and Queen.”

Please check MPWGA.com for further event details.
