The little Irish gnome knew that the No Frills/Lots of Thrills Golf Tournament would promote lots of laughs, lots of groans and be the foundation for friendship with Quail Creek Lady Niners who hosted MountainView Lady Niners (MPLN) on March 16, 2017.
Twenty-nine members from the MountainView Lady Niners got an early start, boarding a Bee Line Bus to Quail Creek in Green Valley at 7:00 a.m. sharp for an arrival time at Quail Creek of 8:30 a.m. Thanks to Kay Tomaszek who made all the arrangements for the bus. The players enjoyed being driven to and from Green Valley in comfort, enjoying conversation with fellow Niners. Thanks also go to Kathy Schoenwetter, president, Linda Rouse, vice president and Deb Bunker, treasurer, who were instrumental in putting this event together.
It was a beautiful day, warm with little wind. Upon arrival, members were greeted by Quail Creek Lady Niners who presented all players with goodie bags; then they were taken to assigned carts to store golf bags, shown where to register and the location of the practice range.
After an enjoyable round of golf, MPLN was hosted to a delicious lunch in a very festive St. Patrick’s Day decorated dining room. The scorecards were tallied and winners were presented with gift cards to be spent in the pro shop. In addition, all players were given 20% off all purchases.
Congratulations to all of the MPLN winners. First flight winners included Flight A 1st place Kathy Berkbigler and Mary Cummins; 2nd place Linda Miles and Maria Blong. Flight B 1st place Linda Rouse and Louise Bidwell; 2nd place Caroline Whitt and Diane Mazzarella. Flight C 1st place Joyce Sutay and Karen Koch; 2nd place Carol Tolan and Judy Stroup.
