On November 4, 2015, thirty MountainView Lady Putters joined our Daisies in the Desert road trip to join sixty Quail Creek putters in a joint putting event at Quail Creek. The Quail Creek club organized a wonderful event, as always. We were fortunate to escape any rain while using a variety of wacky implements to try for the most holes-in-one on the putting green. Use a mop as a putter? No problem! Use that mop to putt a hole-in-one using a whiffle ball—now that is a challenge for even the most experienced putters. After the teams finished putting, a delicious lunch was served followed by an awards presentation.

Our monthly luncheon was held on November 9, 2015. Wheat sheaves and autumn foliage centerpieces graced the tables and put attendees in a holiday mood. A delicious turkey dinner with traditional fixings was served, followed by pumpkin cheesecake for dessert. During the luncheon, Raye Cobb generously donated $70 to our school supplies fund for teachers. The following October award winners were also recognized at the luncheon for their achievements:

Lou Ann Garvin Tiger Award (low net score) – Ginny Ansell with 30.6

Road Runner Award (low gross score) – Pat Wells with 38.3

Hole in Wonder Award – Ginny Ansell with seven holes-in-one

During November, MVLP mailed 500 box tops and 250 soup labels to 1st Avenue Elementary School. This is an ongoing club activity and members of MVLP have maintained their commitment to helping schools in this way for many years.

Our annual Holiday Lunch was held Monday, December 14 at 11:30 a.m.

Our membership remains strong with 133 current putters. Our annual Registration Meeting for all members will be held on January 14, 2016, at MountainView Clubhouse. This is an opportunity for members to sign up for committee assignments for 2016 and pay annual dues. Our dues will be $70 in 2016 with the cost for monthly luncheons to be $17 (with the exception of December lunch which is included in our annual dues).

January 2016 is a great time to join our organization. For any questions about becoming a member of MVLP, contact Cathy Scott at 520-825-0775 or email [email protected].
