MountainView Golf Course Undergoes Full Renovation

SaddleBrooke TWO retirement community announced their comprehensive renovation plan for its MountainView Golf Course. The 18-hole MountainView Golf Course is a public course built in 1997 and has hosted NCAA Collegiate tournaments. Groundbreaking on renovations is scheduled for May 1.

“This multimillion-dollar project is the result of a community focus by our homeowners to ensure SaddleBrooke TWO provides the most up-to-date amenities of any 55+ community in Southern Arizona,” said Dan Linegar. “This project, along with a newly constructed 14-court pickleball complex, are great examples of that commitment by our residents. As HOA president, I am very excited to see this renovation at our MountainView Golf Course get underway.”

While the course will be fully closed beginning in May, work is already underway as the team has begun renovations and improvements to the cart paths, irrigation mainline, and more. SaddleBrooke TWO is working in tandem with Invited Club Management (ICM) on the scope of this project. In addition to renovation support, ICM is the management company for both MountainView Golf Course and The Preserve Golf Course. Once complete, the golf course renovation will reposition MountainView as one of the premier golf experiences in Tucson.

“It’s amazing that the renovation of MountainView is just around the corner,” said Matt Hudson, PGA director of golf operations for SaddleBrooke TWO. “It is truly a product of collaboration between the staff and the community and accomplishes the goal of providing the very best for the residents of SaddleBrooke. State-of-the-art irrigation, new bunkers, and fresh tee decks will all contribute to the improvement of a community favorite.”

Planned improvements include:

* Replacement of irrigation system;

* Newly designed bunkers featuring drainage, sand, shape, and placement;

* Newly designed tees;

* New cart path from hole number 9 green to putting green area;

* Totally redesigned parking area and increased golf cart parking capacity;

* Drainage repairs and improvements;

* Tree relocation to improve turfgrass quality;

* Seven acres of strategic turf reduction; and

* Rebranding for courses, including new logos.

Director of Golf Course Maintenance Paul Hallock said, “This is a very exciting time in the evolution of the MountainView Golf Course. We have taken painstaking steps to improve conditions overall, and this project is the icing on the MountainView cake. At the completion of this project, our members, their families, guests, and the Greater Tucson community will be proud of what we have accomplished with this investment.”

Although work had begun behind the scenes, the official course closure and Groundbreaking Ceremony took place on May 1.
