Special News Event: The MountainView Bridge Club will combine with Small Slams and The Bridge Club of Greater Tucson on Wednesday afternoon, June 21 at 1:30 p.m. for a Longest Day Pro-Am game at the Activity Center to benefit Alzheimer’s research. A wine and cheese party will follow. Overflow players will go to The Bridge Center in Catalina where there will also be a Pairs game.
Many SaddleBrooke players participated in the Tucson Sectional at the end of April with Dick Quigg and his team coming in first place in the first knockout and Peter Godfrey, Steve Sahl, Barb Feeley and Bob Brussel winning the second knockout. Dick Quigg, Ann Kuperberg, Sharon Wyles and Trudie-Weber Penta also placed in the second knockout.
At the Sunday Swiss Team event, Marian Rogge, Ann Hinge, Sharon Wyles and Ann Kuperberg came in third overall while others placed as well including Joan Merrill, Cam Mette and their team, Peter Godfrey, Steve Sahl, Sue Hagerty and Michelle Werley, Diana McGinn and her team, Carol Bidwell, Carol Delie, Donna Sachrison and Barbara Werdell in the 199 bracket.
Others gained points in Pairs and Single event Swiss teams. They included Marian Rogge with Ann Hinge, JoAnn Aiken with her partner, Donna Sachrison with Barbara Werdell, Jack and Arlene Mayfield, Barb Feeley with Bob Brussel, Peter Godfrey and Pamela Thaut, Jim Wolf with Sandy French, Sharon Wyles with Trudie-Weber Penta, Mike Levy and Jeffrey Lesser, Ed Helpert and his partner, Sue Bush with Joyce Hagin, Jane Pendley with Don Reil, Barbara Starrett with JoAnn Ellison and Al Spaet with his partner. In a single Swiss event Bob Murray, Carl Kallina, Fay Kallina and Jane Pendley came in first and JoAnn Aiken and her team also placed.
