Meet “Mr. Cloud-Maven, Art Rangno

Barbara Barr

Do the cloud formations over the Santa Catalinas fascinate you? Come join us and be totally amazed as The Rotary Club of SaddleBrooke learns all about the Santa Catalina Clouds from climatologist, Art Rangno. Art will be speaking to the club at our lunch meeting on Thursday, May 16, at the SaddleBrooke Clubhouse.

Known as Mr. Cloud-Maven, Art Rangno worked for the Cloud and Aerosol Research Group at the University of Washington. In addition, Mr. Rangno has been an on-air weather forecaster at Seattle radio stations and a weather forecaster for several sports teams. He also published a cloud chart poster in 1987, which is now in its 14th printing!

The Rotary Club of SaddleBrooke has quality programs such as this at our meetings each Thursday. We gather about 11:15 a.m. to socialize and order lunch. The SaddleBrooke Clubhouse offers three special selections for lunch, ranging from $7 to $11. After a brief Rotary meeting, we enjoy an educational program starting around 12:20 p.m.

The Rotary Club of SaddleBrooke is an award-winning club, packed with energetic volunteers of all ages coming together as friends in Rotary to assist area schools, our community and international philanthropies. Rotary is open to those who are retired or work in SaddleBrooke, SaddleBrooke Ranch and surrounding communities. If this sounds like something of interest to you, come join us for lunch on Thursday at the SaddleBrooke One Clubhouse. For more information, contact Wendy Guyton at 520-404-5712 or [email protected].
