Marty, a California aerospace engineer who tested scientific satellites for a living, found his way to Tucson where he played tennis until a second knee replacement ended his tennis playing days. Significantly, this Chicago boy has always been devoted to volunteering, first as an AARP tax counselor and then as a math tutor. That’s important because when he learned about STC’s search for additional coordinators he jumped in to serve. Supported by Sheila, his wife of over 50 years, and his four daughters plus eleven grandchildren, he now launches tennis matches instead of spacecraft. It is a pleasure for STC to have Marty on board and for his ready willingness to learn the coordinator’s job from Nancy Frazer, whom he affectionately refers to as the “Boss Lady.”
All STC members thank Marty for his welcoming smile and his matchless personality.
