Mark your calendars to battle cancer

Linda DeWitt

The continuing battle against cancer will again be supported on Tuesday, March 7, 2017, as the MountainView/Preserve Women’s Golf Association (MPWGA) will host our annual Take a Swing at Cancer Golf Tournament. MountainView Golf Club will be the venue with an 8:00 a.m. shotgun start.

The modified scramble tournament is open to all SaddleBrooke lady golfers including HOA 1 and 2, SaddleBrooke Ranch and non-SaddleBrooke residents — so outside female guests are welcome. All players must have verifiable USGA handicaps to participate. You may form your own foursome team or sign up with a partner or individually and we’ll pair you up. All net proceeds will benefit the University of Arizona Cancer Center for research into all types of cancer.

As in the past years, we will conduct a raffle and a silent auction during the luncheon following golf and we’re again appealing to your generosity which has helped us raise over $115,000 in cancer research donations! Every year we have received beautiful handcrafted items from our very talented members, residents and friends. Also, many units and golf groups have donated creative theme baskets to be included as raffle or auction prizes. Items such as a bottle of wine are welcome, which we can then combine to create baskets.

We would appreciate your donated items by March 1 for the Take a Swing at Cancer event. If you have items that you would like to donate, please contact Gail Fosmire at [email protected] or 818-3083. Thanks again for your support!
