West of Hotel California is an exciting new one woman show featuring 15 paintings by widely recognized Southwest artist, Diana Madaras. The artist reception will be held on Sunday, March 9 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Madaras Gallery/Skyline in Tucson, Arizona.
The show includes paintings inspired by a trip to Todos los Santos, Mexico, where Diana had a behind the scenes tour of Hotel California—the charming and curious hotel made famous by the Eagles’ song in 1976. Madaras commented, “I was so happy to spend the afternoon at Hotel California! My husband and I had a margarita in the bar and danced to the Eagles’ song. We had to give the bartender a big tip to play the song since he gets requests every day and is tired of hearing it. I moved to Tucson in 1976 and the song brings back many happy memories. I never imagined I’d ever visit the real place. The place was so charming, I saw a painting everywhere I looked.”
