Joseph Rizza
As many SaddleBrooke residents already know, Dr. Joseph Rizza has been a cruise ship doctor for more than 30 years. His wife Guje Olofsson and two other SaddleBrooke residents, Ed and Barbara Haugland, recently joined him for two Mediterranean voyages onboard the 325-passenger luxury ship the Wind Surf. On one of the voyages, the ship sailed to the Turkish port of Kusadasi. The highlight of that port of call was a delightful candlelight dinner accompanied by live classical music at the UNESCO World Heritage site Ephesus. Ephesus is a 2,000-year-old Roman city, well preserved and continuously being excavated, on the western coast of Turkey between the cities of Izmir and Kusadasi. The Amphitheater in Ephesus could accommodate 25,000 spectators.
