Logan, Utah—A Special Summer

Ed Melnick

A number of SaddleBrooke residents have discovered Logan, Utah, as the perfect place to spend the summer. Home of Utah State University, the Summer Citizen Program offers various opportunities for seniors that are unparalleled.

If you are interested in education, there are classes that are one week long, similar to our Institute For Learning In Retirement (ILR) courses. Additionally, Logan offers a vast array of cultural alternatives, including plays, operas, daily concerts, Sunday night alumni concerts, and theatre courses relating to the presentation scheduled. For those more athletically inclined, there is tennis, pickleball, golf, cycling, swimming, and incredibly gorgeous hiking.

The Cache County Chamber of Commerce has accepted the responsibility of implementing this program. The Town of Logan is very receptive to the Summer Citizens, as expressed by their friendliness, helpfulness, and smiles. The summer residents are always overwhelmed by their efforts to make our summer a memorable one.

The best way I can describe this program is “Summer Camp.”

If you would like to hear more about the program, join us for a presentation on Jan. 22 at 1:30 p.m. in the MountainView Ballroom.
