Lockbox 411

New to SaddleBrooke? New to lockboxes? Here are some helpful tips you may not have considered.

If you have recently purchased a home with an existing lockbox, you must have the correct house key in the lockbox. Having a lockbox saves time for first responders to deliver aid in the event of an emergency. If you have rekeyed your home, call Golder Ranch Fire Department at 520-825-9001, Ext. 2102, to schedule an appointment to exchange the key in the lockbox.

If your casita has a different key, you may include two keys in one lockbox. We recommend you annotate which key is for the main home and which one is for the casita. In some cases, owners have a separate lockbox for the casita. A note in the lockbox by your front door can indicate the one by the casita. Please use reflective tape on the casita lockbox to ensure it is located easily.

Generally, lockboxes are located by the front door. If you prefer to have a lockbox by the gate to your courtyard, place reflective tape on the lockbox so that it is readily seen by first responders. All keys for the gate and front door must be in that lockbox. Label the keys for the gate and the home. In the event of an emergency, time is critical, and providing needed information is crucial.

In addition to replacing the key in the lockbox, you will need a File of Life card. The File of Life provides important medical information for the responders. If you need a File of Life, visit Senior Village at 16460 N. Oracle Road between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, or Friday and we’ll be happy to provide you with one.

Senior Village sells lockboxes for $75 and will install them for free through their Helping Hands team. Call 520-314-1042, Ext. 12, to order your lockbox today.
