Walk to Bethlehem

Vista de la Montaña United Methodist Church presents Walk to Bethlehem on December 10, 11 and 12, 2014, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
You are invited to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas and Walk to Bethlehem at Vista United Methodist Church. This is an interactive, family friendly journey through ancient Bethlehem on the night Christ was born. Take a guided, walking tour among village shops, meet and mingle with town residents and encounter Roman soldiers. Guided tours begin every 10 to 15 minutes from 6:00 through 8:00 p.m. Each tour lasts approximately 40 minutes.
Your journey will begin with hot cider and optional free family/group photos that will be emailed to you. As you travel back in time, imagine the small town of Bethlehem 2,000 years ago. As your guide explains the events of the day, observe the shepherds watching their flocks under the winter sky. Walk the crowded, narrow streets of the bustling marketplace. Beware of the Roman soldiers, pick-pockets and beggars. Talk with the vendors busy in their shops. Listen to the villagers talk in excited yet hushed voices about a very special newborn baby. You and your guide will follow the star to find the baby Jesus lying in a manger. At the completion of your walk, enjoy snacks in the Hospitality Inn. Tours are Wednesday through Friday, December 10 through 12 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Admission and parking are free. All are welcome. Canned food donations will be accepted on behalf of the Community Food Bank.
Reservations are highly recommended. In our ongoing effort to shorten the waiting time for our guests, we have created a reservation system online at www.VistaWalkToBethlehem.com. Reservations may also be made by phone at 520-539-3406 beginning November 17. The event is handicapped accessible.
Vista de la Moñtana Methodist church is located at 3001 Miravista Lane in Catalina (on the west side of Oracle Road, 3.7 miles north of Tangerine).
