May’s dance lessons were led by Claudia Booth and Dave Proferl who generously gave of their time as well as their expertise to assist us in learning Beginning Salsa, a happy Latin rhythm dance. What fun! There were three lessons and they were well attended by those of us who don’t leave for the summer.
If you want to learn to dance, the Let’s Dance Club would love to have you join in. Your friends are welcome, too. Membership in the club is a whopping $5 per person per year from April 1 through the following March 31 and for all periods in between. Lessons to members are free as most of them are taught by members with lots of dancing experience and many of when are retired educators. Remember your favorite teacher in school? The one who let you know by the look of sheer pride on his/her face that you’d done it right? Well, that’s the kind of terrific teacher you’ll find at Let’s Dance.
We meet at HOA 1 in the Vermilion Room off the Vistas Restaurant from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon on Wednesdays. Saturday mornings we get together to practice what we learned the previous Wednesday and also to practice other ballroom dances. Recorded music is provided. Again, once you join the club, all of this is free.

June 4, 11, 18 and 25 is West Coast Swing by Dave Proferl
July 2, 9, 16 and 23 is Bachata by Steve and Rita Holdener
All classes have two levels with Beginning Basic from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. and Beyond the Basics from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.
Open Dance is held on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon in the HOA 1 Vermilion Room.
