The Let’s Dance Club would like to welcome you to join us for fun and frivolity on the dance floor. No kidding, these folks know how to have a good time, a lot of good laughs and the real bonus—you’ll learn to enjoy ballroom dancing. The music you grew up with is at the heart of the dancing that we do.
Here’s the way this works: We mostly learn from one another because we have a wonderful group of members who are willing to give of their time and talents to help those of us who don’t have as much experience as they do with the steps and the timing. They are patient and really want to see everyone succeed. We all know that movement to music is very good for our bodies, but it’s also good for your disposition and happiness. Further, we have dances several times a year where we get to dress up, have a nice dinner and then dance the evenings away. All of this is available to you for the extravagant expense of $5 per year per person beginning April 1 through the following March 31 or any periods of time in between for the lessons. The dinner dances are held here at SaddleBrooke. Encourage your friends to come along, too.
The schedule for May through July is as follows:
Wednesdays from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon in the HOA 1 Vermilion Room
May 7, 14, and 28 features Beginning Salsa with Claudia Booth; no class May 21
June 4, 11, 18 and 25 is West Coast Swing* with Dave Poferl
July 2, 9, 16 and 23 will be Bachata by Steve and Rita Holdener
*West Coast Swing features two levels with Beginning Basic taught from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. and Beyond the Basics from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.
Open Dance is held Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon in the HOA 1 Vermilion Room. The first half hour will feature music from the class taught the previous Wednesday. A variety of dance music will be played for the remaining time. This is a great time to practice all of your dance patterns and pick up some new ones from others.
