Let Your Mouse Get Theater Tickets for You

Andrea Molberg

Getting tickets for Community Circle Players’ March dinner and theater production of The Curious Savage can mean no lines and no waiting, thanks to the online ticket sales process. Let your computer mouse do the work.

Online ticket sales for this acclaimed comedy begin Feb. 1. Or if you prefer, in-person sales start a week later on Tuesday, Feb. 8, at SaddleBrooke TWO’s Administration Building.

After opening on Broadway, the show has been enjoyed by audiences all around the country and even in SaddleBrooke in 2007. This revival by Community Circle Players is sure to be another SaddleBrooke hit.

The Curious Savage is the story of an elderly widow, Mrs. Ethel P. Savage, whose husband left her millions and whose stepchildren strongly object to her plans to give away the entire fortune. To hold on to their family wealth and legacy, they have her committed to a sanatorium called The Cloisters, where the comedy takes place.

No doubt you’re familiar with other plays or screenplays by John Patrick, such as Teahouse of the August Moon, Three Coins in the Fountain, Love Is a Many Splendored Thing, The World of Suzie Wong, The Shoes of the Fisherman, and High Society. In this script, playwright Patrick, who has a Pulitzer, Tony, and New York Drama Critics Circle Award to his credit, contrasts the loyalty of gentle psychiatric patients with the greed and hostility of the so-called “normal” Savage stepchildren. Audiences leave comforted that the neglected virtues of kindness and affection have not completely vanished.

Whether you purchase The Curious Savage tickets online or in person, be sure to act fast because Community Circle Players’ productions sell out quickly!

Performance dates are Monday through Wednesday, March 14, 15, and 16, and Friday through Sunday, March 18, 19, and 20, on the MountainView Ballroom stage.
