The Latin Rhythm Dance is in its twelfth year of providing instruction in authentic Latin dance styles for SaddleBrooke residents. This season’s professional-level classes feature the hottest Latin dances, including Cha Cha, Salsa and Samba.
Free Latin Dance Classes
Free Monday Basic Dance Classes meet in SaddleBrooke One’s Vermilion Room Mondays from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. except for the second Monday of each month (Bingo Day). Our classes are open to all residents of SaddleBrooke and SaddleBrooke Ranch and are taught by long time SaddleBrooke residents Jeanny and Wally Mara. Step sheets covering the day’s dance patterns will be provided.
Salsa Basics- September 18, 25 and October 2
Brazilian Samba – October 16, 23, 30 and November 6
Argentine Milonga – November 20, 27 and December 4
Intermediate Dance Workshops are generally for those with previous dance experience. They meet Thursday mornings from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. in the Vermilion Room. Enrollment is limited to 12, so please make reservations before the class meets! For each class, a fee of $5 per couple includes step sheets and a practice music CD.

Samba Patterns – November 2, 9, 16, 30
Note: Latin dancing is vigorous and aerobic and very good for seniors’ body, mind and balance. Be sure your doctor approves!
Learn the Dance DVDs
Each of our dance classes is videoed by our talented member/videographer Carol Newhouse. At the end of each course Carol converts her video clips into instructional DVDs, which are available for $10 per DVD. Our current catalog lists 22 DVDs covering 15 different dances, both beginning and intermediate. Contact us for a copy.

HOA1’s Hot August Nights
The date and time is Wednesday, August 16 from 5:00 to 8:30 p.m. for this summer’s popular evening of dining and musical entertainment. This year’s theme is pop hits from the 1950s and 60s. A top hits medley and a musical trivia game will be featured as well as a complimentary dance lesson. The evening will continue with the Latin Rhythm Dance Club Dancing DJ’s eclectic dance music mix.
