LAGOS—Mardi Gras Style

Kathy DeMerritt

SaddleBrooke 18ers and Niners joined forces on the Tucson Nine.

It was masks, mimosas, and lunch following a fun nine-hole event on Sept. 17. This year’s annual event was hosted by the Niners. The scramble game included closest to the pin, closest to the line, coupled with a mulligan and special putt as part of the competition.

A big thank you to Charlotte James and her team for chairing this event and to Vicki Long for the fabulous table decorations!

Taking first place were Deb Ousley, Judy Fick, and Susan Lucci. Second place

was the team of Joan Chyall, Ruth Irving, Vicki Berkus, and Sue Schliepsiek. Third place went to Geri Sandilands, Marsha Camp, Kay Sullivan, and Pat Stead. In total, there were six winning teams.

With overseeding around the corner, we are looking forward to a week or two off to catch up on other things, but we will all be looking forward to getting back on the courses in mid-October.

Oct. 15 is an important day for our league. Following play, we will elect officers for 2025! Plans are in place for November’s general meeting and Turkey Shoot on Nov. 12, with our annual meeting and Holiday Luncheon on Dec. 10.

If you have an interest in the SaddleBrooke Niners Ladies Golf Association, please contact our membership chair Leeann Ellingson at [email protected]. We are a fun and welcoming group of women who enjoy nine holes of golf.
