The weather still tells us it’s summer but the calendar says it’s autumn so many of the Knit Wits are working on blankets, afghans, hats and sweaters for the cooler weather. There have been many hat donations for Kids’ Closet for the fall semester. Each child who visits Kids’ Closet to shop for their winter school wardrobe gets to select a warm knit hat. The kids love the hats. We have also gotten hats and blankets needed for babies and small children. A class was held on how to crochet edges on fleece blankets. That is a fast way to make cozy, cute blankets for babies and finished, fancy, easy lap blankets for veterans. We recently had a couple new members join and there is still room if you’re interested in joining a fun group for socialization, working on knit or crochet projects or learning the craft. We meet every Wednesday morning from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m. in the HOA 1 Activity Center, rooms 3 and 4.
