Knit Wits news

Centerpieces at the holiday party were gourds with lovely knitted designs; made by Pat Lenz and Barb Kervin.

Greetings in the New Year! Have you considered joining a social/craft club whose members knit or crochet for themselves as well as others? It’s a great time to become a Knit Wit for the incredible price of $12 per year. Co-presidents Tina Marie and Barb are busy cooking up delightful classes and road trips for 2019. For example, January brings a road trip to Mammoth to see the operation of Kids’ Closet. We knit up many hats for them to hand out to children who need to keep warm during winter. It is one of several local charities that we designate for club donations. Others include Knitted Knockers, Family First in Oracle, baby items for SB Troop Support, hats for chemo patients and items for veterans.

We had a great end to 2018. Our holiday party was a gigantic success. Thank you to SaddleBrooke One for the delicious variety of meals and beautiful setting for our luncheon. Thank you to our speed knitters (Barb and Pat L.) who whipped up beautiful knitted gourd decorations for the tables. Lucky ladies won these incredibly delightful center pieces. Congratulations to our two “ugly sweater” contest winners, Barbara K. and Marsha B. (I thought your sweaters were adorable!)

If you would like to join our club, or maybe just stop by to check us out, come by any Wednesday morning from 9:00-11:00 a.m. We meet at SaddleBrooke One Arts and Crafts Center, Room 4. Someone will be there to greet you and make you feel welcome. Hope to see you soon!
