Everyone is happy the cooler fall weather has finally arrived! Perfect season for knitting. The SaddleBrooke Knit Wits have been busy throughout the summer and look forward to seeing more of our snowbird friends starting to return to the ’Brooke.
In August, a group of nearly 20 members had lunch at Carlota’s in Catalina. We enjoyed their daily specials for a great price; saving money for more yarn! This is how we celebrate the fifth Wednesday of a month, by enjoying the fellowship of eating lunch together.
Many members continue to knit and crochet items for our various charities. Now that it is fall, we work especially hard to help provide Kids’ Closet with many hats to offer to the children who live in areas north of us. A hat can be done up so quickly, even while watching TV.
The Knit Wits meet every Wednesday morning from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m. at the HOA 1 Arts and Crafts Center, Room 4. We share friendship, ideas for patterns, show our latest creations and learn about new yarns that our ladies have discovered. Occasionally we do road trips to local yarn shops. We have had speakers and pattern designers visit with us. No pressure here – learn and do as much, or as little, as you like! Why not drop in and see what you think? New members welcome anytime!
