It is almost a wrap for the official 25/26 social season, and almost time to say goodbye to the snowbirds, as the rest of us start planning our summer getaway. If you’re retired and living in paradise, can they be called summer vacations? The JFG board is working on events to keep the rest of us connected.
Last month, I promised you a recap of the March 8, SaddleBrooke One Dinner and Bingo. For anyone who didn’t attend, it was so much fun! For the 37 who did, wasn’t it a wonderful evening? First we enjoyed a delicious dinner of lasagna, with all the necessary sides. Then, we played Bingo. I haven’t played in years, so I forgot complaining doesn’t make my number come up. Congratulations to our winners Marilyn Anthony, Nate Einbund, Aaron Schoenberg, and Ellen Citron. Special thanks to Steve Rosen for his expert job as “caller” and to my husband Nestor for being able to actually see the numbers on the tiny balls!
The 20 men who attended the Men’s Dinners March 19 at MountainView East Room participated in both an enjoyable social evening as well as an evening of interesting discussion. The night’s important topic of antisemitism was discussed with passion and respect. A special thank you to Lawrence Mazin for facilitating the discussion.
Another successful morning for the Ladies Coffee on March 25. Thank you Sharon Triester and Eileen Feldgus for hosting. About 25 of us gathered together to share a nosh, tell a story, laugh, and catch up with each other. I can’t express how wonderful and important these informal gatherings are to the JFG.
Second Night Seder, April 2. SaddleBrooke One Vistas. I will have a recap on what I know will be an extremely important event. As I write this 90 members and their guests are registered to join us. I am looking forward to the evening.
Men’s Dinner, April 16 and May 21 at 5:30 p.m. MountainView. The monthly topics are under discussion. Guarantee it will be interesting and thought provoking. Contact Jeff Luftig at jeffreyluftig@gmail.com with any questions. Registration forms will be emailed.
Ladies Coffee, April 20, 10:30 a.m. At the home of Sandy Basker. Thank you Sandy for hosting. We hope to see you there. Please look for an email with registration form and RSVP information. Sandy can be contacted at sandyb108@gmail.com.
Potluck, Tuesday, April 28, SaddleBrooke One Activity Center. Comfort foods. For one evening we will all get special permission to eat as if cholesterol, belly fat, and high blood pressure didn’t exist! Bring out the mac and cheese, meatloaf and chicken pot pie. Please watch for emails on RSVP and registration information. Contact Hara Lipman at h_lipman@msn.com with questions.
As a strictly social club we welcome all our neighbors to join us.
