Jewish Friendship Group

As we say goodbye to September, another three successful events are added to our memory vault.

Men’s Luncheon. The inaugural meeting of the monthly Men’s Luncheon was, so I was told by my husband, a great success. A dozen of our gentlemen met at the RoadRunner Grill to eat good food and talk about whatever men talk about when the ladies aren’t present. Oh, to have been a fly on the wall! These luncheons are a monthly event scheduled for the third Tuesday of the month. So, mark your calendars for Oct. 15. Please contact our treasurer, and now the official luncheon coordinator, Steve Rosen for further information at [email protected].

September Ice Cream Social. Approximately 25 members gathered at the home of Eileen and Jeffery Zelmanow for an evening of ice cream, more ice cream, and, just for variety, ice cream toppings! The night was beautiful and the conversation as varied as the topping selections. Thank you, Eileen and Jeffrey, for opening your lovely home for this always-anticipated event.

Oct. 12 BreakFast. First and foremost, we thank Steve and Sandy Rosen for opening their home for this very special occasion. As we gathered for the BreakFast, complete with a delicious assortment of options and a welcoming atmosphere, we were also thankful for the opportunity to spend the evening with dear friends.

What’s coming up? you ask. More opportunities for us to get together and make memories.

Men’s Luncheon, Oct. 15. Roadrunner Grill (see above)

Wednesday, Oct. 30, Potluck Social. This year’s event will transport us to Italy. Given the culinary skills of the SaddleBrooke One chefs and our own members, this promises to be a food lover’s paradise. RSVP by Oct. 23 with what delicious dish you would like to bring. Think outside the pasta box! Other than pork and shellfish, the possibilities are endless. Personally, I love a good cannoli.

November Ladies Coffee. The coffee will be hosted by Eileen Zelmanow and Hara Lipman at Hara’s house (date to be determined). These get-togethers are a wonderful opportunity to spend a morning with friends, make new friends, and catch up on what is happening in our lives, all while enjoying a cup of coffee and a nosh or two. But they don’t happen without someone to coordinate them. It is with great pleasure and gratitude that we announce that one of our newest members and new SaddleBrooke resident, Linda Kaprosy, has volunteered to be our Ladies Coffee coordinator. We welcome Linda to the Jewish Friendship Group (JFG), the SaddleBrooke community, and to the board of the JFG. Additionally, without a hostess, these events cannot take place. So, when Linda asks for someone to open their home, please be the someone who says, “Me.”

Tuesday, Dec. 17, Chanukah Party. As in years past, we will be collecting gifts and gift cards for hospitalized children. The party will be at the SaddleBrooke One Vistas Room. Time and additional information will be forthcoming.

Events for 2025:

January Trivia and Pizza night

February Meet & Greet

March Purim Party

April Passover Seder

If you are a member, please join us for our monthly activities. We are stronger together. If you are not a member, we hope you consider joining. As a strictly social group, we are not affiliated with any religious organization. We are, however, a warm, inclusive, and, quite frankly, delightful group. We look forward to welcoming you. For additional information or for questions about these events or the Jewish Friendship Group, please reach out to either of our co-presidents, Sandy Rosen at [email protected] or Eileen Zelmanow at [email protected].
