The Verde Sputters endured frost delays in January, but that didn’t stop these ladies and guests from bringing their all to complete the 18-hole putting course! Members celebrated in January with money hole wins and holes-in-one, as well as hosting their first annual meeting, which was an early-morning brunch and program. Many thanks to Kelly and the wonderful Food and Beverage team in the Vistas and Agave.
Friendly competition and welcoming of guests, as well as shout-outs to star and money hole winners, are always highlights of our Monday morning rounds. All women who are not part of a sanctioned 9-hole or 18-hole golf league are invited to join, even if they’ve never picked up a putter. Simply grab a putter, a ball, and a bottle of water and arrive at the main putting green behind the SaddleBrooke One clubhouse at 9:30 a.m. on Mondays (later if there’s a frost delay). What could be easier?
In January: Turning in four holes-in-one this month were Connie Kotke, Peg Asmus, Opal Larkin, and Kathy Schulz. Three holes-in-one were achieved by Pam Young, Tana Neibauer, Donna McPherson, Jan Haney, Janet Knowles, Shirley Samlaska, and Wendy Savarese.
Our money hole winners ($5 for a hole-in-one) were Peg Asmus, Lydia O’Connor, Vicki Wermager, Shirley Samlaska, Virgina LaBar, Karen Kelly, Tana Neibauer, Shauna Rand, Georgianne Zigarowicz, Julie Long, Sue Delgado, Jan Haney, Debbie Flato, Debbie Bornmann, Anne Rezich, Carrie Johnson, Rosemary Bounds, and Deb Gryniewicz.
Low scores for the month of December (39 and below) are recognized with a star on the player’s name badge:
