Project Isaiah: The Institute will again collect food donations at the High Holiday services to support the Impact of Southern Arizona Food Bank (formerly Catalina Community Services). Your generous donations will bring a better quality of life to hundreds of families served by the food bank.
Dues and Donations: These run on a January to December basis and we solicit responses for 2017 and for 2016 if you have not yet done so. Dues are unchanged from last year, and are payable to Treasurer Sandy McNabb, 37261 S. Pinewood Drive, Tucson, Arizona 85739. Be sure to include address, phone number and email (contact Mark Schwartz at [email protected] to check your current data in our distribution file).
Shabbat Services: We continue our Shabbat observance on Friday evenings at 7:00 p.m. October 28, November 11, December 16, January 27, February 24, March 24 and April 28. October and November will be held at DesertView’s Mariposa Room; December will be in MountainView’s Ballroom West and Center. Locations for January, February, March and April Shabbats will be announced later.
Shabbat Dinner and Oneg: As before, an optional dinner at MountainView precedes our lively Shabbat services. We meet at 5:00 p.m. and the location will be announced in future messages. Ellie Adelman coordinates our Shabbat meals; please make your dinner reservations at her email address: [email protected].
An Oneg follows each service, allowing us to celebrate the Sabbath and spend quality time with friends. Sponsoring an Oneg Shabbat is a meaningful way to mark a happy or milestone event in your family. Please contact Loraine Stillman to sponsor an Oneg since we still have open dates ([email protected]).
Adult Education: Rabbi Seltzer will lead us in a series of stimulating subjects on Thursday evenings: February 1, 8 and 15 at 7:00 p.m. in MountainView’s Ballroom West.
