The Fellowship Committee from the Community Church of SaddleBrooke (CCSB) hosted an Italian Bistro Night on May 10, 2016. Welcomed by a table complete with Italian flag, candlelit wine bottles, Italian bread, sprigs of fresh rosemary, limes, lemons and oranges, guests entered under an archway adorned with grapes and vines. We all entered into the ambience of a real candlelit Italian restaurant!
Each table was decorated in red, green and white with wine bottles, candles and long pieces of spaghetti fanned out in jars and tied with ribbons. With the aroma of freshly baked lasagna, homemade sauce, hot garlic bread, Caesar and fresh spring salads and fresh rosemary, the Italian Bistro Night had begun!
After Nancy Klawitter, chairman of the Italian Bistro Night, welcomed everyone to the party and thanked Vicki Tessitore for her creative decorations, Pastor Ron Gannett was asked to say the blessing before the meal.
Plates of cookies were placed on each table. Fresh hot coffee, tea and lemonade finished off the meal. Pastor Steve Wilson took the microphone and challenged each table of eight to share their most embarrassing moment with each other. The room exploded with laughter and great fellowship as we all learned a lot more about our friends.
“Meraviiglioso!” (“Wonderful” in Italian).
The MountainView Bistro staff was amazing despite the fact that just five hours earlier the Italian Bistro Night event had to be moved from the Mesquite Grill to the ballroom because their air conditioning went out!
Through events and gatherings, the CCSB Fellowship Committee encourages the bond of friendship and family within our body of believers while enjoying fun and laughter with each other. It was truly a blessed evening filled with great food, friends, new friends and fellowship for all.
The Community Church at SaddleBrooke meets every Sunday morning at 8:30 a.m. in the SaddleBrooke Desert Theater. We are an all denominational Christian Church and all are welcome.
