The temperature has dropped and it’s time to get ready for the SaddleBrooke Community Outreach Holiday Home Tour! Save Sunday, December 6 for the tour and the boutique. The tour will run from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. and includes eight homes with Christmas or Hanukkah decorations, refreshments en route and some wonderful holiday arrangements certain to inspire you.
The home of a quilter has a display of Route 66 memorabilia. She and her husband traveled the Mother Road in Illinois. The tree topper is a passport for one of those rides, stamped at certain specific sites. Perhaps you can engage the owner in some car talk since they drove an old Corvette in a parade of 500 cars.
Tickets are $15 each and docents are needed in the homes. Those guides may purchase a ticket for $7.50, serve half the time in a home and have the rest of the time to tour the others.
Call Betsy Lowry at 818-1011 if you are interested in being a docent.
The Boutique of handcrafted items will take place in Suite L, the commercial center on SaddleBrooke Boulevard. That will be open from noon until 6:00 p.m. to offer you time to select a gift for yourself or someone special. If you wish to donate an item, please bring it to Suite L on November 28, 29 or 30 between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. There will be a form for you to complete. We have knitted, sewn, photographed and stitched pieces of art. There are table decorations, some holiday specific items, ceramics and more. Join the fun; enjoy the season.
