Most local meteorologists forecast that Saturday, January 9 was going to be a perfect day for golf. They wrote that after an early morning freeze, which did produce an hour frost delay at The MountainView Golf Course, the day would be full of bright sunshine with no chance of rain and with temperatures reaching the mid to high fifties. So Bob and his partners Bob Eder and Bill Burnett just knew they were finally going to have a good weather day for golf. Oops! At least they got the rain part right. Most of the day was cold, maybe bitter cold, and the skies were dark as dark could be.
Bob, by his own admission, was not enjoying one of his better rounds of golf when he reached the tee box for the eighth hole at MountainView. It had to be the cold. His best guess for distance to the flag was about 130 yards and he felt that an eight iron was the right club for the shot. As soon as he made contact with the ball he said, “This could be a real good shot.” The next thing Bob heard was Bob Eder saying, “It went in, it went in.” We can only imagine how much better Bob’s day got with that shot. Congratulations again for hole-in-one number four and for finally taking the lead in your household in aces recorded: Bob four and Debbie three. Savor the lead while you can, Bob!
