The SaddleBrooke Hiking Club continues to improve the Oracle Passage of the Arizona Trail. On Wednesday, February 27, fourteen volunteers wrestled with persistent catclaw covering the trail. They sculpted drainages ravaged by the winter weather. This session, originally scheduled the previous week, had been postponed because of the snow.
As usual with these work parties, volunteers expressed satisfaction gained from the physical work and from friendships built during the process.
Two backpackers, Mandy Bonesteel and Gabby Gilmer, stopped during their through-hike and mentioned their appreciation for the excellent trail work. Finally, volunteers enjoyed treats, provided by Steve Aiken, Beth Jones and Marilynn Smith.
