Tucson Medical Center joins Mayo Clinic Care Network.
Monday, July 27 at 7:00 p.m. in the MountainView Country Club Ballroom, SaddleBrooke Health and Wellness will host speaker Douglas Lowell, MD, Thoracic and General Surgery, Tucson Medical Center.
Dr. Lowell, who has been elected by his peers for inclusion in Best Doctors in America, will discuss lung health as well as the new relationship between Mayo Clinic and Tucson Medical Center. TMC physicians now have access to Mayo Clinic specialists on questions of patient care. This exciting new collaboration represents a shared treatment philosophy that aims to help people gain the benefits of Mayo Clinic expertise without traveling to a Mayo facility. Dr. Lowell is a key TMC physician liaison with the Mayo Care Network.
Dr. Lowell earned his Doctor of Medicine from Harvard University and specializes in thoracic and general surgery with particular expertise in minimally invasive thoracic surgery, thoracic oncology and surgical Valley Fever management. He is the Medical Director of Thoracic Oncology at TMC. Dr. Lowell completed his internship and residency in general surgery at Rush Presbyterian St. Luke’s Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois.
He has completed four fellowships: Senior Registrar at Brompton and National Heart and Chest Hospital in London, UK; pediatric cardiac surgery at Children’s National Medical Center, Washington, D.C.; cardiothoracic surgery at Indiana University Medical Center, Indianapolis, Indiana and a research fellowship from Harvard Medical School, Brompton Hospital, London, UK. He is currently Chief of Staff elect at the Tucson Medical Center.
