Halloween Spooktacular

Dan Malueg

SaddleBrooke Winds and Strings (SBWS) with conductor Jesus Jacquez will present a spooky concert on Halloween night, including spine-chilling selections like “Night on Bald Mountain,” “Hall of the Mountain King,” “Music for a Darkened Theatre,” “The Skeleton Crawl,” “The Cave You Fear,” and other eerie pieces. Dancers from the University of Arizona will also perform. The concert is at 6 p.m. on Oct. 31 at the DesertView Performing Arts Center in SaddleBrooke. Tickets are $13.50 and are available through the DesertView Performing Arts Center.

SBWS will also be giving a free concert at Vista de la Montaña United Methodist Church in Catalina at 2 p.m. on Sept. 28. Donations at the concert will be given to the church.

If you are an active player or someone who used to play an instrument, SBWS is looking for you! SBWS is a no-audition ensemble that meets Friday mornings from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. for rehearsal. Clarinet, trumpet, horn, trombone, and timpani players are especially needed.
