For the sixth year, residents of SaddleBrooke, SaddleBrooke Ranch, Eagle Crest, and Oracle are working together to provide much needed food over Winter Break for students at Mountain Vista School K-8 in Oracle. Fueling The Future began and is continuing as a grassroots effort to support students at Mountain Vista who have been identified by staff as needing nutritional support.
Many Mountain Vista students rely daily upon school breakfasts and lunches which are not available during the 15 days of Winter Break. They may suffer from food insecurity. Fueling The Future will provide non-perishable and fresh food for 50 students and their families.
Beginning Friday, Nov. 28, through Friday, Dec. 12, please donate non-perishable foods at the locations listed below. Students at Mountain Vista volunteer on Saturday, Dec. 13, and Monday, Dec. 15, sorting food and filling bags. Distribution to the 50 students and their families will be on Tuesday, Dec. 16.
Suggested donations: peanut butter/jelly, cereal, pasta/sauce, mac & cheese, dried rice, dried beans, canned soups, applesauce, juice boxes/bottles, dessert mixes, boxed potatoes, canned fruit, cookies, canned vegetables, crackers, breakfast bars, canned beans, canned tuna, canned chicken. All non-perishable goods are gratefully accepted.
Locations for drop-off in SaddleBrooke are: 37145 S. Border Drive 65959 E. Catalina Hills Drive, 65809 E. Rolling Hills, 65816 E. Rose Crest Drive, 39890 S. Sand Crest, and 37594 S. Spoon Drive.
