Fraud & Scam Prevention Town Hall Returns March 3 at DesertView

SaddleBrooke residents will have another opportunity to strengthen their fraud prevention skills at a community wide Town Hall on Tuesday, March 3, at 1 p.m. in the DesertView Performing Arts Center. The event builds on the strong turnout and high engagement from last year’s session and is supported by both SaddleBrooke One, SaddleBrooke TWO, and the SaddleBrooke Public Affairs Commission (SPAC).

A detailed flyer for the event—now circulating throughout the community—highlights the theme “Got Scammed? How to Protect Yourself.” The March 3 program expands on that message with practical tools for prevention, early detection, and recovery.

Residents will hear from two expert speakers featured on the flyer:

• Detective Timothy Larkin, Pinal County Sheriff’s Office, Criminal Investigations Bureau

• Robbert E. Muise, Vice President, BMO Bank N.A., SaddleBrooke Branch

Together, they will walk attendees through the most common types of fraud and scams affecting Arizona seniors, including financial impersonation schemes, contractor and home repair fraud, online and phone based deception, and fast moving bank related scams. Both speakers will also outline prevention strategies, warning signs, and recovery options for those who may already have been targeted.

The Town Hall is open to all SaddleBrooke residents and is designed to be accessible, practical, and immediately useful. With fraud tactics evolving rapidly—from AI generated impersonation calls to increasingly sophisticated financial scams—organizers emphasize that staying informed is one of the strongest defenses.

The March 3 session will include time for resident questions, real world examples, and clear steps for reporting suspicious activity to the appropriate agencies.

For residents who have seen the flyer posted around the community, this event offers the full, in depth program behind that message. For those who haven’t, the March 3 Town Hall is an ideal opportunity to learn how to protect yourself, your household, and your neighbors.
