It’s time to put away the flip flops and put on the dance shoes. The Let’s Dance Club of SaddleBrooke is offering an ambitious lineup of ballroom dance instruction. From the peppy West Coast Swing to the elegant American Tango there is a dance for every one coming this fall. Even if you have never danced before now is the perfect time to start learning. Or maybe it has been years since you had time to dance and need some brush up. The Let’s Dance Club is here to help you enjoy your retirement to the fullest. Dancing is fun; it’s good aerobic exercise; it’s good for the brain.
Beginning on September 9, the dynamic duo of Dave Poferl and Mary Borkovec will be teaching the modern and energetic West Coast Swing. With intricate foot work and interesting time changes this dance will get both your feet and your brain working full out! There will be a Beginners class and a Beyond Basics Class. Preregistration is required. Email [email protected] to register for either session.
Coming in October are classes in American Fox Trot taught by Dave Proferl with Claudia Booth and Ann and Tom Kurtz. Email [email protected] to register for the beginning class. Registration for the beyond the basics session should be sent to [email protected]. Register early for these classes as they do fill up quickly.
In November, American Tango will be taught by Silke Gsching. Rita and Steve Holdener will be teaching Bachata in December. Classes in early 2016 include Cha Cha (Linda and Barry Moore) and Latin Hustle (Steve Hess).
Most classes are held Wednesdays, 10:00 a.m. to noon, in the SaddleBrooke Clubhouse Vermilion Room and are free to members of the Let’s Dance Club. Membership is $10 per person per year and includes membership in both the Let’s Dance Club and SaddleBrooke Ballroom Dance Club. An open practice session is held on Saturdays, 10:00 a.m. to noon.
