The fall softball season came to an end December 15. Let’s recap the final results:
Monday Community League – Splendido, managed by Debbie Seguin, came in first place with a record of 7 wins, only 3 losses. Second place went to Stifel, led by Dave Stevens, with a final tally of 5 wins and 5 losses. Third place was a tie. Both Mi Pueblito and Robson Communities Inc. had 4 wins and 6 losses. They were managed by Rich Battagello and Mike Hamm.
Monday Recreation League –Charles Hendryx led the players of Shifren Physical Therapy to the top with an impressive record of 10 wins and 4 losses. Manny’s Organization Station, with Pat Brennan at the helm, finished in second place with 7 wins, 6 losses. Third place went to Ray Szpakowski, CPA, Tim Benjamin as skipper, with (ouch) 3 wins and 10 losses.
Tuesday Competitive League – First place went to the Tom Ottaway-State Farm sluggers, led by Harold Weinenger. With 10 wins and 4 losses, these players cranked out 279 total runs, the most of any team in our leagues. Players Pub, managed by Greg West, came in second place with 7 wins and 6 losses. A distant third place went to Chuck Kill’s team, SaddleBrooke HOA One, with 3 wins and 10 losses.
Tuesday Community League – Jim Takacs was in charge of our first place team, SaddleBrooke Remodeling, ending the season with 7 wins and 3 losses. Second place went to Patrick Shaffer, DDS, managed by Tom Klein, with 3 losses and 7 wins.
Thursday Coyote League – All hail Sunshine Experts, our first place winners with 8 wins and 4 losses. Ken Meinhart wrote the line-ups for this team. In second place, we have Shelves That Slide, skippered by John Sentowski, with an even record of 6 wins, 6 losses. Orbitel Communications, with Tom Klein as manager, finished in third place with 4 wins, 8 losses.
Friday Community League – We had a tie for first place. Pride Mechanical, with Ryan Mitchell in charge of the line-ups, and Sheftel Dermatology, Ron Romac at the helm, both completed the season with 7 wins and 5 losses. Second place went to Stone Canyon Painting, led by Ken Beals, with a final record of 4 wins and 8 losses.
Friday Competitive League – The Charles Company was led by Charles, I mean Charlie LaNeve, to a first place finish with 8 wins and 4 losses. In close second place, with 7 wins and 5 losses, we had Sharon Bellamy-Covenant Insurance, managed by Buzz Schmitt. Preserve Grill, with Terry McNellis at the helm, finished in third place with 3 wins and 9 losses.
The men and women of SaddleBrooke Softball play year round. The winter season began January 8. Games are played every weekday morning; Wednesday is practice day.
