Dress a Girl Around the World: Sew-a-Thon Planned for November 5

Jeannie Hayward

The Dress a Girl Around the World Sew-a-Thon will be held on Nov. 5 from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Oro Valley Church of the Nazarene, 500 W. Calle Concordia.

Dress a Girl Around the World is a national organization, with members around the world, sewing dresses for little girls living in poverty. Many of these little girls are wearing rags, many are orphans, and many are living in very unsafe environments. We believe that by having a dress with the Dress a Girl label on the front, these little girls are marked as loved and protected!

During the Sew-a-Thon, dresses will be made in assembly-line format. All fabric and dress supplies will be provided. You just bring your sewing machine, basic sewing supplies, and your talent! There are tasks for non-sewers, too!

All dresses made during the Sew-a-Thon will be taken on a Mission Trip in 2023.

Please come and join us and bless little girls around the world!
