2014 marks the twentieth year for the SaddleBrooke Friday Quilt Club, and to mark that milestone the theme of this year’s quilt show will be Memories. The show will be held at the MountainView Ballroom from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Expect to see at least 100 beautiful creations on display on Sunday, March 16. Along with a commemoration of the past 20 years, there will be other special displays including a demonstration of English Paper Piecing and the organization Quilt for a Cause will have a presence. A very extensive boutique will have many handcrafted and sewing related items for sale. There will also be a silent auction for larger treasures. This will also be the last opportunity to purchase a raffle ticket for one of the two specially made quilts this year. The winner will be drawn at the close of the show. Tickets are $1.00 each or six for $5.00. The second raffle quilt is a bed sized project titled A Quilter’s Neighborhood. Attendees will also have the chance to vote on two Viewer’s Choice awards which will surely be a difficult decision. All money earned from the sale of raffle tickets and boutique items goes to support the service projects of the club. During the year members sew a vast number of quilts, placemats, pillowcases and other items which are donated to local social service organizations.
Mark your 2014 calendars for this very special showing. As always, come early for the best selection from the boutique. For more information regarding the SaddleBrooke Friday Quilters please visit their website: www.sbquiltclub.org.
