In a bygone age when we were young and invincible, we ate a lot of things that we now long to chow down on but also cringe to think about. Sigh. Maybe you’re on a low-salt diet. Maybe you’re on a low-fat diet. Maybe you’re on the Mediterranean diet. Maybe you’re on a meat-free diet. Any of these diets make it difficult to go to a restaurant and find a variety of things you can eat. The SaddleBrooke Plant-Based Nutrition Group (PBNG) can help with this.
PBNG is a club that focuses on plant-based eating and learning about the positive health effects of a plant-based diet. But it is not a club only for plant-based eaters. It is a club where people share wonderful recipes they’ve found, new ways to prepare foods, places to shop for plant-based food products, and restaurants serving plant-based items. Thus, if you like your veggies with a side of cheese, fish, or meat, PBNG is still the place for you.
PBNG holds monthly potluck dinners where people share and explore new ways to cook using vegetables, fruits, nuts, and grains. In addition to a delicious meal, you’ll meet wonderful people, hear members and visiting lecturers talk on all things plant-based, and occasionally enjoy a musical performance, play games, and exchange gifts.
Come to a potluck and see what it’s all about. We’ve had reluctant partners decide the food really is good, and they now enjoy coming each month. For more information, go to sbplantbased.com and click on “Join PBNG” and you can click to “Signup for an Event.” Here’s to healthy eating!
