The Community Church of SaddleBrooke donated more than 2,000 baby and adult diapers in August to the Family First Pregnancy Care Center and Family Diaper Bank in Oracle. Pictured are Director of the Family First Pregnancy Care and Diaper Bank Clare Grochocki and Missions Liaison Cathy Scott from The Community Church at SaddleBrooke. We wish to thank the congregation of The Community Church at SaddleBrooke for this and their other generous donations.

Family First Pregnancy Center provides, at no cost, educational programs for prenatal development, parenting and life skills and a mentoring program for teens. They also provide a Wednesday Reading Program for kids. Our clients are able to partake of the nationally acclaimed Earn While You Learn DVD study series that includes worksheets and homework along with a trained volunteer to review their work with them. When clients complete a class they will earn Mommy or Daddy Dollars to be used in the center’s store for diapers, baby clothes, blankets, formula, crib sheets, high chairs, cribs and more! If they don’t have enough “money” today, they are anxious to sign up for additional classes to earn more; a real incentive for them to keep coming back to Earn While You Learn.

Family First has enjoyed watching clients grow in knowledge and confidence. The Center relies solely on volunteers, donated items and fundraisers to keep this beneficial program running. The Center is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. Its annual Chuck Wagon Roundup fundraiser is Saturday, October 17, 2015. If you would like information on volunteering some time, money and/or donating an item or two for our fundraiser auction, please contact Nancy Klawitter in SaddleBrooke at [email protected] or go to the website at www.familyfirstpcc.org. All funds raised are used locally to build strong families who build strong communities.
