The SaddleBrooke Democratic Club (SBDC) Nominating Committee has worked diligently to assemble the new club slate for the following two years. Voting took place at the meeting on March 11.
The March meeting also featured Cathy Sigmon, a 28-year resident of Arizona. She is a co-founder of several organizations: Civic Engagement Beyond Voting (CEBV), a statewide nonprofit that promotes engagement with state and local government; Gavel Watch, which creates a report card for judges in Arizona; and the public education advocacy nonprofit Save Our Schools Arizona.
The club’s February meeting had a “sold-out” crowd of people anxious to know what can be done to fix the problems in Arizona and Washington, D.C. Jennifer Hilsbos, the new Pinal County Democrats Chair, spoke to the group about her focus on helping precinct organization and meeting with anyone interested in the elections next year. Jennifer will be actively recruiting precinct captains, as well as candidates to represent Pinal County and LD-17. Anyone interested in learning more can contact Jennifer at chair@pinaldemocrats.org.
Based on the overwhelming interest by SaddleBrooke Democrats, SBDC will be developing different ways to get involved and distribute information via the website, email, and social media. Anyone can join the email list by signing up through the link on the navigation bar on the club’s home page that says “Newsletter.” SaddleBrooke residents can join the club by visiting www.saddlebrookedemocrats.org/join-us.
