Cyclemasters Bicycle Outside SaddleBrooke

Wanda Ross

Each week, several of our more accomplished and faster bicyclists do rides outside SaddleBrooke. These rides on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays are announced by various club members, most often Dan Hoshino, inviting others to join. They bicycle to various places in Tucson. Some favorite rides are to the Mercado, to Panera Bread at the University of Arizona, to Dunkin’ Donuts on Cortaro Road, and to Beyond Bread on Campbell Avenue. Typically, there are 10 to 12 riders. Usually, each ride is about 40 miles with a pace of 14 to 15 mph. Options are offered for fewer or more miles. Each ride includes a sweep so that no one is left behind. Cyclemasters members who are interested in these rides may ask to be added to the group email.

Occasionally, our more moderate social bicyclists ride outside SaddleBrooke. Recently, they rode to Bashas’ and stopped at Starbucks for drinks and pastries before bicycling back. The weather was beautiful, and it was just in time for pumpkin spice latte.
